Cracking Open Sentences

It was a wet day.

Revised and Cracked Open:

It was a humid and stormy day. It was raining cats and dogs. The trees’ leaves had been ripped off by the previous day’s storm. The monsoon-like wind was now picking them up like feathers and they were being buffeted down the street. The storm was booming thunder and lightning like pounding a bass drum. I was soaked with water to my bones. I could feel the wind spraying my skin with jets of icy rain.
